Alexander Brey is a Ph.D. candidate in the History of Art at Bryn Mawr College, where he is writing a dissertation about hunting in the visual cultures of the Umayyad empire (660-750 CE). His interests include statistical programming, network analysis, agent-based modeling, computer vision, and machine learning, as well as the technical challenges and political consequences of digitization projects centered on Islamic objects and texts.
