Ellen Hoobler is an Assistant Professor of Art History at Cornell College. Her recent research has dealt with the intertwined topics of the ancient Zapotecs of Oaxaca, Mexico; the historiography of their study and excavations of the site of Monte Albán; and digital models of historic sites and their capacity to convey a nuanced past. Her website, www.digitalzapotectombs.com, which explains the digital project she is working on, has been featured by the Frick Collection’s directory of digital art history projects, among others. Hoobler is also a Project co-Director on the NEH Digital Humanities Startup Grant for a project entitled “Dangerous Embodiments: Theories, Methods, and Best Practices for Historical Character Modeling in Humanities 3D Environments.”
